VW says: “Today we announced the Golf R will be produced in a limited quantity that will be available for sale at the start of 2012. This race inspired model will enhance Volkswagen’s “performance image” with its 256 hp 2.0T engine. In racing tradition, the Golf R will be available only in a manual transmission and standard features will include: all wheel drive, Premium 8 Radio, 18” alloy wheels, leather interior, xenon headlights, Climatronic and Bluetooth. It will be available in either 2dr or 4dr and a fully equipped version that includes sunroof, Navigation, Dynaudio sound system, and “Kessy” keyless entry.”
